What the app stores, and where
Everything Lexio knows about you is kept in a database in the app's private storage on your device. That includes:
- your vocabulary deck and the sentences words came from;
- your review history and the scheduling state behind it;
- texts and books you import, including their images, and your reading position;
- your placement-test results and level profile;
- app settings.
This data never leaves your device unless you deliberately export it. Other apps cannot read it. Uninstalling Lexio deletes all of it.
Permissions
Lexio requests exactly one Android permission: internet access. It does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, phone state or advertising identifier, and it cannot read your files except the ones you pick yourself in the system file chooser.
When the app uses the network
Lexio connects to the internet only when you ask it to fetch something. There is no background communication. The cases are:

As with any request your phone makes, those third parties can see your IP address and the fact that something was requested. We have no access to that and receive nothing from them. Their handling of the request is governed by their own privacy policies, not ours.
Speech
When the app pronounces a word, it hands the word to the text-to-speech engine installed on your Android device. Some engines, including Google's, may process that text in the cloud. Which engine is used and how it behaves is a setting of your device, not of Lexio.
Backups you create
Lexio can export your data to a single backup file. That file is written wherever you choose to save it and is never uploaded anywhere by the app. What happens to it afterwards — for instance if you place it in a cloud-synced folder — is under your control.
Children
Lexio is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, regardless of age.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export or erase on your behalf. You can delete everything the app stores at any time by uninstalling it. If you have a question about this, or believe something here is inaccurate, write to us and we will answer.
Changes
If a future version of Lexio starts handling data differently, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
